Can anyone recommend a good blacklight for my flying crank ghost, which will be in a mausoleum?
I'm coloring ghost and the 16" blacklight I'm testing with, and the one I was planning on using, certainly ain't cuttin it!
I need something really good, but don't necessarily want to spend hundreds of dollars LOL!![]()

I have a regular old 16" blacklight I picked up from Party City that I use for my FCG. It works perfectly well, and cost something like $12.
I mounted mine over the top of the door opening. If you want bigger "oomph," you might try two mounted on either side of the opening. Still would be pretty cheap considering.I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

Go to walmart and get a shoplight that hold 2 four foot florescent tubes. Also in wal mart you can get the blacklight tubes for 12 bucks each. for 30 bucks you get all the UV you can want. I used one on my FCG and loved it.

Funny story. Last season I was looking for a blacklight tube fixture to light up an entire room. I started at the pet store but they were too expensive. In true Haunter fashion I figgured I'd just make one myself, so I went to Home Depot and got all the parts. 2' light fixture housing, wiring, blacklight bulb, and wiring caps. After carefully and fearfully reading the instructions on how not to electrocute myself, I actually made it work. It lights up a 10'x10' room. Whole thing cost me under $35.
The next week I was back in HD looking for something else, and happened to walk down the lighting aisle. There, about 3 feet away from the original fixtures I had bought, were pre-assembled 18" black lights for $14'ish.
Successfully scaring little kids since 1990.

Check Walmart for their 18" blacklights. Last time I bought one they were under $10

Those Elation lights are nice, on Amazon.com they're about $110. I bought just the bulbs and made my own mirrored fixtures, it's really easy. The bulbs are 100 Watt UV fluorescent with a standard edison screw-in base and you can get them for around $35 each. The part number for the bulb is: LL-UV-W100. I would think a single bulb in a ceiling light socket would be plenty for a mausoleum.

I bought mine from Kentucky Special FX Effects Professional Halloween and Haunted House Attraction Props and Theatrical Illusions.
I use the one light and it lit the ghost beautifully. There are pictures of mine using this light on my album page if you wish to check it out. They also have nice ghosts and great service.EVERY DAY TO ME IS HALLOWEEN!
