Thread: Video: Pirates of the Caribbean Malfunction

This may be of interest to those of you doing pirate themes like I am. I was down at Disneyland this week. While videotaping the pirates of the caribbean, the music stopped and the emergency lighting went on. I filmed the whole thing, and you get to see what the props actually look like. Did you ever find out why the lights came on? The boat still worked ,but I noticed the props weren't.

Was the music on the entire time? Or did you add it?

Disney Lands pirates is much better than Worlds. Small differences between the two, but they add up. I almost think that because Disney Land has no where to expand to, that they spend more money on tweaking things.

That is interesting to see. I was there and on the ride the day before you (the 10th).

I was there a few weeks ago and POTC was closed for repairs

I love watching animatronic malfunctions at Disney. Like the Abe Lincoln, Indiana Jones, etc. I think it gives me a feeling that, 'Hey, Disney isn't perfect, afterall."

I was looking at the colors of the paint like the barrels are a reddish color UV?and not the brown you would think so they use the lighting to help make the colors they want.like a blue light on a yellow something would show green.

Interesting ridethrough video. Funny to see the emergency exits.

Possible scenario in the control room right before the malfunction:

"You must restart your computer for Windows updates to take effect. Do you want to restart your computer now?"

"No, I'll do it later."
Click.
(System shuts down.)
"Oh $#@*! That was the wrong button, wasn't it?"

Haha! this is great...being a home haunter, I would have been so excited when the lights came on! LOL
