I came up with a pretty cool sequence using LOR to make a lightning effect. I used two channels and had one spotlight on each channel. I just toyed around with the timing until I got what I think is pretty random lightning effects. Not much different then lightning effect machines you see on the web. Plus now I still have 14 other channels to use for singing pumpkins or dancing lights.

If you want "singing"/"talking" effects, you should take a look at Aurorashow.com for the software and www.d-light.us for hardware.
Aurora has a "waveform to event" effect that follows the amplitude of an audio file and will render the equivalent response on a controller. (Like the Servo8)
It's a REALLY easy way to get "talking" motion going.

For customer support, and versatilty, LOR wins hands down, watch for their sale on Summer solstice [june 21st]
I looked at em all, and researched heavily, it's a lot of money to spend after all, but if you want singing pumpkins AL is not the way to go, it's all preprogrammed and no way around it.
Check out the lightorama forums and you'll find lots of helpful folks willing to share info. Often lately you'll find people cutting back on their show and selling controllers.
D-lights a close second, but I'm way more impressed with LOR.

Litemare,
Not trying to pick a fight or anything, I'm curious more than anything...
What specific aspects of customer support formed your opinion regarding LOR?
What do you mean by versatility? Can you expand on that?
Thx

lor users like Light-O-Rama Sequences.com - Welcome

Thanks guys.
That's actually one on the strengths of Aurora. It can directly import LOR (v1 or S2) sequences. So, it opens up all the LOR sequences that are avail on those sites.
As far as user-to-user support, Aurora has forums also www.aurorashow.com as well as D-Light (www.d-light.us • Index page). For hardware, there is very little learning curve with D-Light hardware if you already have LOR hardware. In fact, they can coexist on the same controller network.
Also, AL *can* create custom show/sequences. It's not just for "canned" sequences.
Again, I'm just trying to better understand.
Thx
