I swapped out the LEDs in the GYS eyes yesterday and everything works great. The actual LEDs were a little bit bigger than the ones installed by GYS, but I was able to file them down to fit just fine. Filing them doesn't really seem to affect the color or intensity at all, likely because the light is being diffused by the eyes anyway. The swap took me about 90 minutes but a lot of that was trying different things to see what worked best. The way the eyes are constructed and assembled it was really pretty easy to swap them out. Maybe later this week I'll get to that side by side comparison with the Skulltronix skull.
