Hi all. I thought I'd try out killer13's excellent rusty sword tutorial--- Rusty Sword Tutorial video by bxmas13 - Photobucket
and here's what I came up with. I took a shortcut and used black and red paint with a little sand mixed it to try to achieve the rust effect and topped that with silver metallic spray paint, killer's technique, I think, is much better. After cutting out the basic shape per his instructions I used a dremmel for the detail work. The basket guard on one sword is cut from a plastic jug. I used hot glue to create the "scrollwork". The metal hand guard on the other is made from coat hanger wire with hot glue globbed on to give the metal a weathered look. Fairly quick project (about an hour per sword, minus drying time).

Nice job! I like the "battle" marks on the blades.
