HI everybody! I would like to collect ideas for pneumatic props. I've NEVER done pneumatics, but am considering doing an air prop this year (with the help of a skilled friend). But I'm really not sure what I want to do! I know about trash can and barrell pop-ups, and lurching props. What other cool pneumatic prop ideas can you lend me?

My first pneumatic prop was the simple pop up guy from Vile Things

    Simple pop-ups

It was really easy to construct and has been going strong now for several years.

I also made my own version of a coffin jumper, except my coffin is vertical and the skeleton jumps up and slightly towards to ToT. It was also very easy to construct.

For the first prop, I found that simple up and down movements were the easiest.

I saw the coolest and easiest pneumatic prop at Transworld this year! It's a jumping spider/octopus..whatever thing. Fright Props made it and here's a video:

    YouTube - Hopping Octopus Prop

There is a cylinder mounted in the center of the body pointing down into the ground. When it's fired, it makes the thing jump up. That's it! Isn't that brilliant!?!!!

You could do a simple Monster in a Box sort of thing...just something that would bang a lid on a box or coffin up and down erratically with eerie lights and fog coming from inside...
