Herman Secret, took a look at the tutorial on your web site and was able to build my own version of your ground breaker coffin in about two hours!!!

I admit, I cut a few corners -- didn't put in all the corner bracing in the main coffin, but I still want to thank you for your very detailed tutorial. The diagrams and dimension charts made building the coffin very, very easy.

Here are a few pics I took of my build.

Below: this is the scrap wood from an old pallet that I thought I would use. I used pallet board for the lid of the coffin and two lengths of old fence board for the sides.

Below: the lid construction with cross braces.

Below: finished lid and cut back panels for coffin.

Below: completed groundbreaker from the front.

Below: completed groundbreaker from the side.

Great job on the build TK, that the pallet wood lid looks better than mine !!

Glad that you found the tut of some use ... btw, keep the offcuts from the lid build, I will showcase a different lid using them

So ... what to do with the offcuts after the build ?

Here's a couple of pics of an alternate lid using the offcuts

Great tutorial HS! I like the one using the offcuts too - great idea. I'm hoping to finish mine up this weekend - I got sidetracked by other projects. Nice job on yours TK421. I like the weathered wood.
