Thread: Where to buy Stranded Wire?

Hey guys-
I'm trying to find a good deal on spools of stranded, insulated copper wire. I'm thinking about 28AWG (actually, probably get some of 28awg, 24awg, 18awg, and 14awg). I've been searching online, but striking out. The 28awg is the most important, and no one sells it.
Ideas???

Seems odd not to find online but then again I go to the local electric shop. Cant imagine the shipping on that.

Yeah- they don't carry it either! It's really odd! They sell everything else EXCEPT WIRE (they DO sell 22awg, but that's it!)

Have you tried Fry's Home Electronics | Computer Parts & Accessories, Software, Games, TVs, Cameras - Frys.com or their retail stores? I picked up a 100' spool of NTE WH series 24AWG from them, and the part number lists it as all tinned copper.

Heres a place I found and depending on what your using it for I think phone wire is 28awg too and doorbell wire.

Allelectronics.com has several wires in different gauges. I don't know if any of those would work for you or not.

Try jameco.com, they have 28 gauge wire, 100' roll for $23.35 according to their catalog.

He needs stranded though and phone and door bell is solid

and heres a place but doesnt say if stranded or not might wanna call them.

Miniature Wire: Miniatronics

Didn't find any at Fry's, or at alltronics and whatnot. Jameco seems pretty expensive. I can't believe it's this hard to find this stuff...
