I am hoping to put together a couple of books that my ToTs/Visitors can thumb through as part of an hands on area of my haunt.
so far I have the cover of the spell book nearing completion. So here is my problem.
I need some Spells/Potions that will make up the content of the book. I have a mental block on making up my own for some reason
I have google'd and yahoo'd but cannot find any resources for spells.
Of course I am looking for the type that would include newts eyes, frogs legs, bats wings dragon scales, etc if you get my meaning.
Does anyone know of or have any resources for these
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Herman

Hi Herman. Here are three we used in our spellbook to get you started. They're easy to write, once you get past your initial writer's block. Just think of a spell topic your audience may find of interest, have a list of spell ingredients (the more outlandish and unobtainable, the better) to help you with the flow, then let the rhyming begin! Love potions, curses, and brews of death are always popular. For presentation on the page, I personally prefer Monotype Corsiva font, with the first letter of each title word in a deep red. Have fun!
Bewitching Brew
When the moon is full and round,
make a fire using bones of a hound.
Start with a tankard of yak oil,
and slowly bring thy cauldron to a boil.
Add a handful of eyes of newt,
tossing in a few bat wings to boot.
Throw in a pinch of dragon scales,
taking care they be from males.
To this brew so horribly foul,
add three tail feathers from an owl.
Throw in a dash of powdered unicorn horn,
and a hangnail from a man so forlorn.
When yon clock midnight chimes,
stir clockwise forty-seven and a half times.
Make low the fire to simmer,
and chant spells till thy potion dost shimmer.
Store in a crock hidden from sun’s light,
applying three drops to thy victim at night.
…~~~~~~~~~…
Wart Enhancer
To make thy warts more full-bodied and round,
rub in toad droppings plucked off the ground.
Cover this with pus from a festering cut,
and wrap with linen from a witch’s hut.
Apply maggots when this dost so reek,
and remove naught till after a week.
Then relish as others do admire,
that which you so desire.
…~~~~~~~~~…
Eternal Happiness
For a more happy and mirthful life,
follow these directions and be rid of strife.
In a pewter cauldron about to bubble,
stir in three cups Essence of Trouble.
To this add a sneeze from a lamb,
and five pinches of gargoyle toe jam.
Then throw out all with one swift motion,
for happiness comes not in a bottle or potion.
Merely laugh and worry not over matters small.
Happiness is yours for the taking and available to all.
…~~~~~~~~~…

Many thanks Matthewemrich for the link.
I actually found this a couple of days back after doing a search on the forum and have used a few of the pages. Some I have redone but others I have just printed from the pdf.
All the same, this is a great resource and many thanks for sharing this and I will be posting a few pics in a couple of days as I finish off my spellbook.

Spells and Magic. spells, hexes, occult knowledge, black and white magic. - has some lighter Wicca spells/rituals and some dark magic type spells.
I'd strongly recommend looking up the Charmed book of shadows at TheDemons Jumble - the site for the Charmed fan - the style of that book is AMAZING.
hope this helps, assuming you're still looking for inspiration ofc

Herman, did you ever complete this book and if so, can you post some pics?? I am going to work on my spell book in the next week or so, and would really like to see how you did it!

Thanks!
