    Fill the PVC pipe with Great Foam ...

    Also, I read awhile back that there is "Metal Foam" works like great foam but is metal and lightweight. Don't know where you would get it though.

    Stick with the conduit. It's hollow, cheap and it won't bend on itself just from being left out in the sun.

    And its galvanized to prevent rust. Thin wall metal conduit is the way to go
