I am in the final stages of building my funeral coach that will sit in my front yard this this year. I had not planned on having a horse but the more I think about it, the more I think it would add so much. I was thinking about a basic wooden frame, covered with chicken wire, then covering that in monster mud. Thats about the only way I can see to build a horse..... any other ideas?

Find your locla Budweiser distributorship....they might have a huge fiberglass clydesdale that you could "borrow".

If you're pretty good with wood working and laying out a design from pictures, get a picture of a horse skeleton and some plywood and make an interlocking horse skeleton, not only would it look creepy as hell, but you can break it down for storage.

What about making one like the haunted mansion where its just the reighns but it looks like it on a ghost horse. It might be alot easier.
Can you stake my heart?

I covered my pneumatic horse with chicken wire and then fiberglassed it. Some stinky stuff, but durable for the weather though.

Here is a blog page with some good pictures on a different headless prop.

Evil Bob's skeleton horse looked great and would be much easier and lighter to store.

If you have a lot of cash and want to go as realistic as possible Van Dykes sells a Fake Horse Form (very Expensive).
Horse Lifesize Form Standing With Rods, Big Game, North American Lifesize, Forms at Van Dykes Taxidermy
This would be as realistic as you could get without going for the real thing."...And out of the darkness, the Zombie did call
True pain and suffering he brought to them all
Away ran the children to hide in their beds,
for fear that the devil would chop off their heads..."
