I was cleaning out the garage and found a box of the old fan fold computer paper...the big stuff...can that be used for paper mache?

Curl - awesome job. Thanks SO much for showing your pictures. I recently found Stolloween's site and have been dying to try the JoL process out (I'm in the process of moving so it will have to wait til 8/1). Seeing someone do it gives me lots of encouragement. You did a great job with the facial expressions and I too love the stem detail on the big one.

These are fantastic... Great paint job, I love the detail on the stems.
There are only 10 kinds of people in this world... those that read binary and those that don't.

Thank you all very much for the positive reinforcement =) I really loved doing these projects and it's great to get so many nice compliments on them =)
Halloween Princess - I don't personally have a tutorial, but I got my general idea from STOLLOWEEN. Check it out. Scott has a lot of great how to's from JOL's to skulls and everything in between. He even has a receipe for paper mache, which is the one I use and swear by =) If I get time, I'll do a tut on mine =)
TK421 - I used a tall garbage bag, for a kitchen trash can, stuffed with plastic bags and crumpled up news paper. I stuffed it really full, pushing all of the air out of it as I went along. Then I tied some thin rope around it, to make the sections. That took a little work, because I had to either add more newspaper or move it around to get each section to have a good shape. Well worth it though =) I also used air drying clay, once the whole thing was paper mached, to give the shape a little more definition.
Scatterbrains - I think that the computer paper should work out fine. I haven't experimented with different paper, I just use newspaper because I have a lot of it and it's free =) I've seen people use paper towels before, so I'm sure if that works, the computer paper should be fine =)
If anyone starts their own paper mache JOL or any other paper mache project, let me know! I'd love to see them!

EXCELLENT! you did a really wonderful job on those two. And I totally agree with the comments about the stem on the big guy. That's the kind of detail that really adds to the overall great look to the piece. Well done Curlgoddess!

I tried to make a few, but I didn't take enough time building the armature and they came out all deformed. I need to try again. Nice work on yours.
Children of the night... What music they make.
