Brick paneling from Lowes... (I had a ton of $10 off project cards
)
First I cut it down to 4' x 32", then I ripped them into 1' sections, so I ended up with twelve 32" x 12" pieces of panel...or enough for three pillars.
I then had four 39" pieces of 2x4 that I screwed the paneling to...being careful to start 3 1/2" from the end. I screwed the paneling on first to make sure there wasn't gaps, instead of building the frames first.
Then I put a border of 2x4s around the bottom.
For the top, I made the border, but didn't screw it to the frame work. Instead I screwed a piece of plywood to the top of the border so that the top can just rest on the frame work. Since I glued the Gargoyles to the top, I could just take the top off if I was worried about the gargoyles safety.
