    I am betting this thing is really powerful. If it takes 40 seconds to extend, I figure piston can exert at least 100 lbs of force. Likely more. Not sure what it could be used for. You could use a lever to move a prop a large distance. Like you say, it is slow.

    Also, for electronics, I just discovered DigiKey. They have the best selection (1.5 million items), prices AND catalog I have seen online so far. They have an interactive index that allows filtering until the results fit on one page.

    If it is high-power AND you can control how far it extends, you could have it extend 1/2" in about 1 second and lever that to move something big.
