anyone one know what pumpkinrot is using for the flesh on these props?











i can make several guesses - but not familiar with the material... unless it IS paper mache' with latex paint - but I give him more credit that that I guess...

Looking on there site they say there medium is clay paint paper mache.There maybe some latex on it too just a guess.

I seem to recall a discussion a few years ago about Pumpkinrot's work.
I believe the conclusion was (as it was confirmed by ol' Pumpkinrot himself) they are indeed make of paper mache, and painted.

Some of his more recent work may be more than that, but his older items were "simply" paper mache.
Nothing simple about them of course - I wish I had a tenth of his skill, so my haunt would be amazing!

I would say its different varies of paper mache. The type of paper he probable uses is news paper, tissue paper. not the stuff you use to blow your nose with but you can even use that as well. All types of paint. Latex, spray paint, monster mud.
He also uses earthy materials like branches, grape vines and probable plain mud. lol
He's defiantly the person who is responsible for creating a sick and twisted person that I have be come when it is creating zombies. A great inspiration If I don't say so. I love what he does. His work is so detailed and life like by just using Home depot materials. All ways good stuff.

I have 3 of his wonderful pieces mine are papermache.You can see one in my avater.

He uses papertowel mache'. Recipe given to a friend of mine, 1 parts white glue (Elmers) to 3 parts water. Papertowels are shredded dipped into mache mixture and applied. Painted after dry. That's it. No MM, no clay, no latex.

Agreed, I spent many months pouring through prop sites and recognized the images immediately. There is a tutorial for it as well.

where is the tutorial for this
