I have seen "crawling" zombie props before, but to the best of my knowledge, they do not move across the ground/floor real well. Here is a link to a video with a great crawling character.

Certainly impressive, I have been keeping my eye peeled at what japanese robotics are on the market. I fell for the Manoi robot which has stunning flexibility but, looking at any with this caliber on a larger scale would indeed require a second or third mortgage on the home.

I could see the idea implemented in haunts on the video provided, would be even more flexible with some R/C implements for better control. The only withdraw is battery life, that would take some consideration and some math to figure power consumption for the prop. The real issue with any type of prop like this is mobility versus power economics. I have seen some scare factory props that walk and move about but run off air. Which, provides another issue, hissing pistons opposed to quiet motors draining batteries down after displaying a few events.

I love the video this will help out on some of my props for next year, most certainly entertains ideas for my "Sleepy Hollow" theme.
