WOW! I wish I had your know how. Is that the monster mud or sculpting clay? How heavy is something like that and how did you learn to do something that impressive?

They're a high school arts / special effects class.
Check out their page. BHSFX - Berea High School Visual Effects and Design
I saw some of their stuff at MHC, they do good work.

There is a seamstress form underneath our sculpture. The sculpture is being sculpted in water-based clay.

thanks for the link, I checked it out. My school had nothing like that. I think it would be great to have a course like that. That is something I would love to learn how to do.
Do you loose the seamstress form then? Do you cut it out?

In the case of this sculpt, we will make a two piece mold. Thus the seamstress form will come out unharmed and intact. When the two halves of the mold are complete, we crack it open like a nut shell, clean out the clay, than pour in the latex. We have done one piece molds before, but we didn't have a support structure underneath. An example of this is the THING character on our website. It was sculpted from 300 lbs of water clay.
