I was wondering if you might suggest some thing that I could add to a haunted trail I have plans to do. I have an old abandoned campground in my property and wanted to utilize it. It's already pretty creepy by itself...

Definitely the rattling trash can.

Anything about a campground always make me think of Friday the 13th? Anything with that theme would be great! Although younger kids may not get the theme, but it would still be scary! Good luck!

Maybe a tent set up with an appropriately scary scene inside, backlit from inside the tent so you only see shadows?
Also, a friend of mine has set up haunt decorations in an active campground for several years now. His favorite is several skeletons set up around a fire roasting hot dogs. OK, maybe not the scariest but cool for the kids.

How about a row of hanging skeletons. A skeleton on a medieval "X" rack, then you can have some skeleton actors or hooded guys scaring up the area.
