You were probably talking to them at the same time as I was. When I got off... I was thinking that I should ask for contact information of someone that knows more about the specs and why I'm experiencing this lack of watts.

Thank you for spending the time.

Mine is the Magnum Pro 2000 which it looks like they don't make anymore and it is just the Magnum 2000. I have had it for 8+ yrs though. It looks like the Magnum though. Once the battery on my camera charges I will get some pics and take a video of the test again.

Yeah, we talked to the same tech (Rashid). He said he was going to e-mail the product development team and get back to me. I think we've found something here to be very concerned about.

The Kill-A-Watt can show watts or amps. There are buttons for both.

Interesting... that you stated your model was a 1700 watt machine and was pulling 1600 watts and now their "2000" model is spec'd at 1600 watts. I wonder if they just updated the spec? Or is yours completely different.

I guess your photos will answer that question.

Is there anyone else with other Chauvet models that this is happening to?

That is a very good question. If anyone else with a Chauvet machine has a way to measure the current draw I would be very interested in knowing what it is. I don't know if this issue is related just to the Hurricane 1250 or other models as well.

The short story is that if they are selling these as 1200 watt foggers and they are really only 800 watt foggers there is a major legal issue at hand.

Yes, and if I don't experience a marked improvement over my 700 watt lite f/x (fog f/x) fogger... then I'm returning it through Amazon.com. My 700 watter claims 2,500 cu.ft/min. as compared to the Chauvet 1250's 10,000 cu.ft/min claim. That is a massive difference that I should notice.... I assume.

I have not done a kill-a-watt measure of this fogger yet and will ASAP.

Maybe I'll take that $150 and put it towards a VEI V950.

Instead I'm going to kill all the breakers in my house except the one that the has the fog machine, then read the meter at the electrical service to get kW/hr. Divide by time to get kW.

Just kidding. But I will order one of those meters right now.

Mine seem to put out a very decent amount of fog. I don't really have any complaints there. However, from the first test I was disappointed by the fogging and recycle times. I expected them to be a big improvement but they were not.

dqderrick, I thought that you had tested your fog machine to see the current draw (back on page one of the thread). If not, please let us know when you do and what you find.
