Oh I think I remember seeing those in another thread and even commented on how great they looked. So they are attached with velcro eh? Might have to try that next year. We used double sided tape this year and had a heck of a time getting it off afterwards.

I hope the Velcro is the double sided stick to it'self kind. Otherwise you think duct tape is sticky try pulling the adhesive backed Velcro off... EESH.

Actually, they are the small velcro dots and they are white. They blend in with the color of the window frames, so they'll stay there all year, until I am ready to put the boards up again...

LOL Wasn't sure how to describe it. I was thinking maybe looping them through window shudder louvres.

I am in the process of doing the same thing but since i'm only 17 and I don't own my parents house i cannot drill into the frame :P So instead I am making them out of HD foam. I seen a how to and it looked awesome. very nice windows though. Definatley adds to your house. Do you turn on the lights inside for an added glow?

This may give you ideas. Using some treated scrap I built 2x4 frames slightly smaller than the window opening, then distressed some old 1x4 and etc. then hit them with a little stain.

I then screwed into the bottom corners two 3/8 hex screws making a sort of footing. By backing off the screws with a wrench they simply wedge against the window sill and header board. It takes me about 2 minutes to put them up or take them down and they stay put in any weather condition.

That's a good idea except one of my windows are like that but the other two are not. So the boards will in some way have to become attached to the house. I seen an idea about velcro in an earlier post so i'll try that. Thanks for the help.

Ok, now I'm trying to picture how they wedge lol
We live in a house that's on the national register for monuments. So we can't make any holes. I saw a tutorial about magnets but we dont have any metal frames. Thought the velcro might be a good idea till you mentioned it sticking just as bad as double sided tape.

what about building a frame with long side pieces that stick in the ground and cover your windows with out actually being attached to the house, then you can attach the boards on the frame and never put a mark on or in the house?
