I decided to go ahead and make a trio of black candles with my last batch. Attached are photos. They look pretty good, but I think I still like the white ones better. I think that I will stick them out in the cemetary just to see how they look, but I will probably end up using them indoors.

Those look really good Sir. I ended up spraying mine Ivory. I didn't particularly dig the stark white that I had used, so re-did them all with a real nice Ivory satin finish.
If mine weren't going outside, I would probably do some in black. You know you have a successful haunt when the ADULT visitors pee their pants.

You don't need black glue all you need is black spraypaint that's all I used on mine.
After last year of going out every night and turning candles on and off I am doing electric this year.I should have bought those pumpkins at walmart and used those light sockets to make indivdual candles but I didn't buy but just 2 what was I thinking 1.50 a peice I should have bought lots.
I picked up a set of c7 they aren't flicker type but figure I can still work with them.altho at 25 per strand that's alot of light in one area so I need a hack on the christmas light strands to make them the way I want them anyone got one?Or know of single premade light strands to buy.I know there is one for buying the stuff and doing it yourself but I am trying not to use that option just yet.I would rather hack what I have.I may just use one or two big groups and sacrifice a few pumpkins.

You can use the box at the bottom, "go advanced" or use the paper clip at the top (attachments). Click on this and go to the file where your photo(s) is/are located.

Ok folks....I just wanted to thank Push Eject for his help in answering my questions. I do craft shows in the fall for extra Christmas cash and last year at one of the shows a customer told me about some candles he had seen made from PVC pipe....to say the least I was intrigued. I did a Google search and ended up here but I wanted to take the idea to a place that could be used other than Halloween scenes....so I was going to "experiment". I gathered in all my supplies and decided to give it a whirl. Of course the first ones are always the hardest. Mine were going to be too tall to drill through the great stuff for the cord so I got the brilliant idea to use a piece of 1/2" pvc pipe I had on hand...only thing was I didn't measure the size of the socket first and it was larger than the pipe so that gave me quite a headache trying to "fix" that mess. I suddenly remembered that the pool noodles on my deck were not from my grandkids but were supposed to go in the middle of my PVC...LOL. Like I said...I figured out what to do. Anyhow...I used 3 candles at various lengths and attached them to a base and decorated them... Here is my result....not really Halloween but "fall". I am going to do then for Christmas with pine and ornaments. Thanks so much for the great help. This is truly a cool place to come for ideas and info.

They were a little difficult at first. I thought I could just put the hot glue at the top and it run over and down but the really didn't go as far as I wanted. I figured out that I needed to actually "glob" the hot glue down the side some and then let gravity make them drip on down. It was definitely a trial and error on the first one but then the second one was much faster and much easier. One tip I would give you is to not spare expense on your hot glue gun. My puppy had chewe the cord off my old faithful that I loved so I went to Walmart to buy a new one. I was only 5 or 6 dollars but it was junk. Once it got really hot the glue sticks would clog in there or something. My hubby heard me fussing and put a new wire on my old one so I could use it again. I used white spray paint but I think next time I may use an ivory or cream.

for the electric candles. was looking for c7 or c9 flicker type blubs, but leds? was looking at one time found "candelabra 9 led simulated gas light". but can't find again
can you just replace c7 blubs with c7 blubs leds?
