I'm looking for an "on the cheap" solution to wirelessly trigger my fog machine and strobe light simultaneously, Any ideas? Im using a simple mini strobe and a Spencers fog fx-A 700 Watt fogger with timer, If that helps any.

I've tried a wireless outlet, which works for the light, but not for the fog machine. I'm sure one of you guys have an idea!
    Any help would be appreciated!

With a fog machine like that one, you can not guarantee that it will fire every time you want it to. This is because it cycles on and off so the heater doesn't burn out. If you want to shoot fog right when it has cycled off, you are out of luck.

Aside from that issue, you can control it most of the time with a wireless outlet with a modification.

First, take apart the fog machine controller. The little box with the button you push to turn on the fog.

Disconnect the two wires that go to that switch (button). Extend them out and connect them to the normally open contacts on a 120VAC relay.

Plug the relay into the wireless outlet.

Nowm, when you turn on the outlet, the strobe comes on and the relay pushes the button for you. The fog machine will need to be plugged in and powered up the whole time.
Living as if every day were Halloween!

That was a fast response! Thanks, I'll give this a try!
