Does anyone know anything about a UV powder, store bought or even homemade would be fantastic! The reason I am asking is we have 4 actual firing cannons, with the help of some balloons and some baby powder to create the effect that we are going for, we just hoped to have something a little more visable shoot from the cannons, if we could just find a way to make the powder UV sensitive or glow in the dark. I don't really know too much about this sort of thing, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, it would be great!

How much do you need? I'm thinking you could buy some of that glow in the dark sidewalk chalk, and grate it into a powder on... well, a grater. Or even if you crushed it. But not sure how much you need.
So come up to the lab and see what's on the slab.

They sell it commercially, but I don't know how safe it is to breath and I think it is a bit pricey. It is made for intrusion detection. You could also look at grinding up Tide to make a finer powder, but the package warns about eye contact and ingestion which could inadvertently happen. If the chalk is labeled as non-toxic that may be the best way to go. I got a bit of a reaction from all purpose bleached flour, so depending on how powerful your UV light is, you may want to test that.

Not too surehow much we will need actually but the glow in the dark chalk sounds like a great idea except for the grating part, I hate the feel of chalk. Yes I'm crazy, I know, the flour sounds good too, gonna have to look into both of those. Thank you!

You could put the chalk in a plastic bag and hammer it.
So come up to the lab and see what's on the slab.
