Thread: Gemmy Jason machete arm problems?

I bought the life size animated Jason prop made by Gemmy online. When it arrived, it's moving arm was broken. I called the merchant and they ended up telling me I could just keep it and they woud refund my purchase.
So I took him apart and used that super putty stuff you see on tv to fix his arm back.

My question is this, there is a spring that was hanging loose around the moving arm mechanism. Does anyone know if this spring should be behind his arm to assist raising it?

It would seem so, but it is very tight and I fear if I force it behind the arm I could break it again.

Any thoughts?
