I am building some props out of standard beaded styrofoam slabs.
What do you use for joint filler?
It is a little late to be experimenting and I have a thousand projects to finish!!
Thanks!

If you're going to be painting over it, and it's just a thin seam, perhaps caulk would do the job.
(the paint-able kind, of course)
It keeps some flexibility, so it should flex with the foam.Hell is an eternity of getting up at 4am to nothing but decaf coffee...

I use wood putty for filler in tombstones. Joe's caulk suggestion is good too. What are you making?

I use wood putty for filler in my tombstones too, since it's sandable and paintable. But it would depend on whether you need flexibility or not.

I use quick drying 'polyfilla' ie the same filler that you would use for filling cracks in wall plaster
Polyfilla is great because you can sculpt it to a rough or smooth texture and it dries hard

I use Gorilla Glue, it foams up sort-of like great stuff, just not as much, and once you sand it down, has the same exact texture as the foam I'm gluing together.

The plan is to build a coffin with an animated lid.
I have a HotWire kit, so it is mostly the corner joints I am worried about.
Anyone used the Hotwire tools before? I have been so busy with my papier mache stuff, I haven't even experimented yet...Soup of the Day - Spilt Pee
