    Stupid question maybe....

What type of wire are you using for your posable props? If I had coat-hanger wire I could possibly use that, but to untwist coat-hangers and then unbend them to use just seems too time consuming?

So I ask...what type, and where do you get your wire??

Hardware stores sell wire in assorted gauges and strengths. Normally in the electrical section. The gauge you need would depend on the project and how much weight it needs to support.

didnt think electrical wire would be stiff enough... I was thinking about that plastic coated wire they use for hanging plants.....or wire ties for concrete foundation work.... I dunno...just looking for the best (cost effective) alternative...

Lowes sells a general purpose wire that works well its either 8 or 9 gague and I think it alum.

Look in the hardware section where they sell the nuts, bolts, nails.

Find a ceiling acoustic tile supplier. I think even home depot/lowes carries that type of wire they hang the framework with. Heavy stuff, comes in like 4 ft lengths.

Me? I get my nippers out and 12 wire coat hangers for a buck... I don't untwist, I just cut the tops off.

I use rebar tie wire depending on your budget 12 lower # copper or alum wire works good too.if you want something for hanging go with picture hanging wire or aircraft cable any of these are at the home depot lowes type of stores bare grounding wire works too.just go and look and bend some of the wire thats available and see what you need but lower the gauge or # the thicker it is.
