I want to take a Faux securty camera and use it the make a Gargoyl head move; but, I want to / need to move or replace the motion triger eye on the camer.
I would like to know if anyone knows if a motion eye like on a flood light could be used.

I cannot tell from the photo, is the motion eye set up to trigger a relay, or does it just supply voltage to the lights? Is the faux camera set up to use 120VAC (direct or stepped down by a power adapter) or does it use a battery pack?

If it uses 120VAC, you can use the light fixture, just buy a screw in adapter that makes the bulb socket a standard electrical plug.
If the camera uses a battery pack and the motion eye triggers a relay you can rewire it to supply the battery pack voltage when triggered.

This one is a Battier powered fauz camer.
I want to use it turn the head of a 28" tall rubber Gargoyl.
the box said it had a 9' reange so want to see if I can replace it with another type this one will be inside the body. so it wouldn't be of use. I had thought if maybe there was a type of EYE like the ones used for outdoor lighting or security.

They use 4 1aa batts only, i believe the eye is a motion sensor, not PIR like the driveway motion/heat sensor type.Never opened one up yet,
but I,m sure the motion sensor can be moved, when have we / one of us not tried to give it a "hack".......
When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........

If that is the HF faux cam, you can simply crack that sleeve off as close to the case exterior as possible, add extension wires to the leads and relocate the sensor on the gargoyle exterior.

I simply cut them off and solder them together for full time movement.

I believe when activated they will turn the head for 2-3 minutes and shut down again.

    Thanks everyone
I'll try cutting and adding to the run, this evening and post pics as I go.
    One mre thought Gorey:
If do the same by cutting and moving the red LED do you think I could add a second LED and place them in the eyes? or would that be to much of a power drain?

    I just do not know.
I clipped that out, not added to it.

You may be able to, if you check the forward voltage and check if a resistor is needed.

Figure the drain will be roughly 35mah.
If you can determine the entire circuits draw, you can factor for an additional LED and the time it will run.
