Thread: mini black lites

looking for sometype of mini black light that can be used on a costume , maybe an LED type if they make them.
need to light up an actors face, which will be wearing glow paint and glowing contacts.

actually, I'll need something battery operated so that the actor can be moblie and chase the wagon.

I had the same idea, LEDs around the inside edge of the hood of a white-faced zombie, but I was worried about the old "never look too long at a black light" rumor.

Anybody know if UV light is harmful or not?

UV lights are what are used in tanning beds, UV is a form of radiation, you are not supposed to look directly at a UV light they can blind you.

That's what I was afraid of.

GreaseMonkey - if you do this, be sure the light doesn't shine directly into the person's eyes.

You can buy battery operated mini purple spot lights from Lemax Spooky town collection - they give off a lot of light considering their size and are pretty cheap too.

Those are awesome! Do they show off like a black light, or is it just purple.

They show off just like a black light actually! cos I use them to light up the writing on the gravestones for my halloween village and it looks just like UV
