I just saw a 400 watt Fogger at Target with a compartment for ice and describes itself as creating fog that stays low to the ground. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or would it be more economical and better to just buy the 400 watt regular fogger and make my own chiller for half the price?
Ideas?
Thanks,
Todd

I would recommend the latter if you want low lying fog for a few reasons...you won't get as much fog for a longer period from a 400 watt that you would a 700 watt and you would also have to keep filling up the little container with ice.
I built my own with a 48qt cooler, some PVC pipe and screening (you can find various plans from Search) that works great for the entire night. Go with making your own I say.

I had this one a few years ago in my first haunt, and don't recommend wasting the money. The ice bucket part is completely useless as it does not hold enough ice to be even moderately effective. Once I realized that, I couldn't really even use it well with a chiller because the fog output on it is a long slot rather than a small opening, so it was hard to direct the output into the a chiller input.
For the money, I'd get an inexpensive "regular" fogger, then build a budget chiller.
Good luck!

we have a similar one from garden ridge and we plan on putting dry ice in the container so we wont have to keep refilling it with ice all night.

Using dry ice would make a big difference.
Speaking of chillers and fog machines, anyone thing $165 is a good price for a clean used VEI V-940 and chiller?
Thanks!

I have this fogger and well it's pretty bad. It doesn't stay low to the ground and I had to refill the ice chamber 5 times last year..dry ice would work better. It's funny because it was my first fogger and thought they all had to be filled with ice. I bought a chav 1700 and put together a 44 gal chiller and it is by far my best purchase this year. It stays low and the chiller cost about $70 to make.
