It seems like my Red Flood Lights are too intense. I really like some of the Cemetery pics on the forum with more pinpoint lighting. How do you acheive that? I don't mind the Red and like the lighting, but I would like to accent other things while having a nice creepy look and feel.
I use regular outdoor flood lights and cover them with a "can" that I made from some 4" metal ducting painted flat black, about 12" long. help cut down on the glare, I also keep the lights close to the ground.
The LED's sound great from markgoodson said and other posts I've read, but for now I'm sticking with what I have due to cost to switch over...puts it down on the list for next year start buying LED floods.
I've been using halogen pond lights as spots for my props. They're very small, waterproof (they're designed to run underwater), and come with different colored gels you can snap in.
The ones at Target are relatively inexpensive but the three-pack lights are all on the same wire with only a few feet between each light module. I still like them though, and will be running four sets this year.
The pirate captain is lit by two in this picture (one is visible on the pallet), and you can see the red light on the skeleton on the right from another module:
