This year I'm looking to do a tentacle prop. What got me thinking about it was the ankle tickler.
My thoughts so far are to buy a Davey Jones mask and stick air tubing in the tentacles. Kinda like a 'tentacle tickler'
Does anybody have the mask, and if so, does this sound plausible? I don't want to spend $50 on a mask I don't intend to wear just to find out I can't use the tentacles.
Any other suggestions? I think latex is going to be the best as far as yielding the right flexibility, but I'm far from an expert on the matter.

I have the deluxe Davy Jones mask and the tentacles are hollow and one sided. I'd like to make them move too...

"hollow and one sided".. Do you mean one-sided like only one side is painted?
Or one-sided like a celery stalk (eg not a true cylinder, but a cylinder cut in half)?
If they are hollow tubes, I would think you could move them. Just a matter of the number of CFM's required.

Haunted Props sells a large octopus and tentacle. Also there are several tutorials about making tentacles out on the web.

I dunno.. connect a 5' tentacle to an ankle tickler rig and you'll probably knock somebody of their feet!

I've seen the howto's on tentacles.. I'm personally interested in using the mask, if possible.

Anybody have any ideas how to make a big octopus like on hauntedprops.com?
Giant octopus. I'm looking to make one 3'-5' and don't want to spend $90. Do you think spray foam (great stuff) would work somehow?

Wow, for $90 that' not bad for a 5' prop imho. As mentioned above, there are some tutorials available.. but it definitely will take some time.
One method was to coat soft modeling clay with latex, allow to dry, then pull the tentacle off (inside out, like taking off a ltex glove)
Another was to use foam (like seat cushion foam), carve it and then cover with latex and paint.
You could probably do it with great stuff too.. I don't see why not.
