Plywood base, 4" PVC (sewer-line quality), a 4" cap bolted to the plywood, 3 triangular pieces of plywood screwed to the PVC & plywood add support (disguised as roots), Y-fittings make sockets for the removable branches. Trunk is 4" PVC with "Fun Noodles" (pool toys) added to give bulk. Fun Noodles are carved to give the appearance of trunk diameter decreasing after each branch. Branches are 4" PVC with a cap at the end. Three 1" holes were drilled into each cap and 3/4" PVC "twigs" were inserted. Twigs were given random shapes with 45- and 90-degree elbows. The twigs in each branch were screwed together. Everything was corpsed (separately). The leaves came from a fake potted plant, bundled & taped together, inserted into the open ends of the 3/4" PVC twigs, and screwed to lock in place.
