I always have loved Aranamurta's spooky tree and wanted to do one. But the project is a big one, and I put it off because I just didn't want to start something so big. LOL! Then Ahwahneeliz did his spooky tree for the scary tree contest and I was inspired by his work photos. So I have started my own version of the Spook Tree.
I am doing two trees. Each tree is in two sections- trunk section and tree top section. I have incorportated a round laundry basket in the trunk sections for storage. My tree trunks will hold up a "buffet Bar" ( plywood counter) and the tree tops with go on top of the counter to kind of look like the tree grew through the counter. The tree tops are hollow so I can put a light inside
to shine upward and also I plan on using REAL dead tree limbs to stick out the top of the tree. It is a monster mud project, so these suckers are heavy. Another reason for building in 2 sections. The following pics are just work pics. I plan on doing the tree in med dark grey... and blending in the skellys, skulls and bones to look as if they are embedded into the tree. ( they look very pronounced now) I do want to keep the top trees eyes, nose and mouth more pronounced tho.
The other photo's are things in the works/ or projects done- Wings are for a blucky reaper, Ham accomplished the toe pincher. But we have lots more to do. IT JUST NEEDS TO STOP RAINING EVERYDAY. I can't get things to dry!

This is sick! I love your work. I have always felt that to take on something like this would be a huge job and I know I could not devote the time.

She is also a member on this forum.
She does nice work and was one of the main contributors to my getting into MM. She did a great gargolye too. I will try my hand at a wailing tree or trees probably next year, ah hum after this ween. Amazing! The mouth in the tree is scar-ry!
I also love the bones as branches. Brilliant ideas.
