Black sheet plastic and picture hanging wire. Kinda chessebally, really cheap. Assuming you are able to screw eye-hooks into your walls to get the wire tight enough to work.

I have used large pieces of fabric , tarps, black plastic (visqueen) and gone to the thrift store and bought roll down blinds. They last a good long time are weather proof and don t take too much room to store.

I'm not sure why folks think Styrofoam boards are cheap because they're not

I've split a small carport into a maze-like room and separated a large room with black sheets from WalMart - they cost $2 for a Queen size. I just unpacked them and they hold up very well, easy to work with -- especially if it's inside away from the elements.

For a couple bucks, I can't think of anything more efficient. WalMart - and other stores I'm sure - sell some super cheap sheets in the bedding section.

I hung hooks from the ceiling (after I found the studs). I sewed a quick hem on one end of landscape fabric and inserted a PVC pipe (like making a curtain). Hung it up to the hooks with zip ties. I weighted the bottom by stapling the fabric to a 2 X 2 and rolled it up taut. If it's going to be windy I will also weigh it down with bricks.

Yeah, I always by landscape fabric at Sam's Club in the spring to be ready for haunt season.

Sam's has the really thick stuff that you can't see through.

If you use black plastic, spend the extra and get some 6 mil. Also have some fire exstinguishers. I did a burn test on that stuff and it was nasty. I use it for my roof. I have had no problems yet. ( knock on wood)
Build it and they will come.
