I want to use a chainsaw in my haunt but the reall thing just has to many drawbacks so I have been looking for a good fake one. I have seen the cheesey flat ones at all of the halloween stores and they are crap I found this one from spookyprops.com but almost $700 is just a tad bit over my budget. then I found this one Deluxe Animated Chainsaw with Sound - Costumes and it looks ok and says it is loud but I would lke some personal opinions from some of you.
Thread: anyone ever used one of these?

I used to have super powers until my therapist took them away.

I hear those are pretty cool. I the "chain" is made of rubber and moves. Check ebay too.
Please check my 2011 Haunt album here on HF. http://www.halloweenforum.com/member...ween-2011.html
Thanks

I played with one at Garden Ridge. The sound wasn't quite where I would want it but it was pretty nice

I used an electric chain saw with the chain removed. Nobody was the wiser and the sound is authentic and it's safe. It also lends itself well to triggers controlling the 120 VAC.

Last year, we had a neighbor running around dressed as Leatherface and carrying one of those around (or was it real?) Anyway, he had a group of teenage girls mortified and i've never seen teenagers run half that fast (i have 3 of my own)....GO FOR IT!
