    Target has mini LED strobes for 2.50; they should be in a Halloween display at the front of the store (not near the Halloween stuff); Make sure you get the LED one's and NOT the incandescent ones...

    How can you go wrong for $2.50

    I haven't seen these, but WalMart is selling Gemmy LED battery powered strobes for $7. I was pretty impressed with them.

    I tried all four with two different sets of good batteries. I've never come across something like that sort of failure rate before. Amazing.

    Target had 2 types of strobes in almost the same packaging green & purple;

    The LED strobes I got were fine (3 AA batteries), the incandescent strobes I got which took 4 AA batteries had problmes - one of the batteries in the center did not make contact w/ the terminal - if I put in some tin foil to bridge the gap it worked fine, however these were NOT very bright, so I returned them and kept the LEDs.

    I believe the incandescent strobes were labeled for Halloween, while the LED strobes were not.

    Hope this helps...

    The cheap $2.50 strobes are indeed labeled for Halloween. They have them up front in the bargain area. I think they are LED but since I never got one to work I can't be sure. I tried a few in the store and they didn't work either.

    Target carries a Gemmy strobe for $7 or so with five LEDs. It seems pretty decent. The local Big Lots store had a packing with two strobes and a string of while LED "strobe" lights and noise box (sound or light activated) for $20. They should be handy and the price is right.

    I bought several of these last week at 75 percent off. I haven't tried them yet though.

    Save your money!

    I bought the led version, it takes 4 AAs and it only has 2 leds in it. The flicker rate is not that fast (even with the variable speed dial turned all the way up) But, the big kicker is that the light drop off is about 2 feet. I think its pretty much useless. I haven't tried the incandescent one.

    Is anyone having any good luck with these?
