Hello! Need some help making trees for my graveyard. I'd lie them to be at least 5 feet and use them for many years to come. I've visited the links in this thread regarding trees and they look great but I don't have time to make those. Any suggestions? And thanks for linking to your web sites...I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's work!! Lee

hummmmm real trees painted black ? i live in the country and have lots of fields and woods around that people cut wood for heating and burn in stoves i know a few around here get them around xmas and paint them white (like the ones sold in store at xmas in a pot with a red bow) you could do the same and paint them black , cheap not too much time consuming either and you can cut the branches the way you want .....am not sure of the use for many years to come but for this halloween its a quick project

One quick way for trees is to get two pieces of thin plyboard make a design you like. Cut them out, then cut a small channel at the top of one down to the middle and then a channel on the other at the bottom up to the middle. Then slide them together. You can then dress the tops with a light cloth for leaves. They look better at a distance or for a storybook look. When you are done just slide them apart for easy storage.

One (albeit time-consuming) method I used to create a tree was to monster mud up some of those cardboard cement tubes

wow camsauce, pretty impressive. I too want to make some black trees as well. The ones they have at Target, ect just don't have the real effect of a tree that I want. Hoping someone here would respond to Agemany with some experience.
    love them or lose them

instead of painting them black you can buy tree wrap from a gardening store and wrap it up, it looks cool at night time

Yes, I have seen those trees from Better Homes. Plywood props just arent spooky to me.
Sorry guys, butt I like those trees from Target. They have an interesting texture and shape.

Wow camsauce! Your tree is creepy! What is monster mud? Im guessing you can do something similar with pvc rather than cardboard. . If you used pvc and then wrapped them with cheap window screen "screen" I could probably do two trees a day (excluding painting). What could I use to get the screen "fabric" to stay in place. Or is something else better? Lee
