Yea that is correct. It should come with some cables if I remember. If not just go to your local store and get the cables you need to connect from your sound card on your computer to your transmitter. If you are using a laptop it will just connect from your headphones jack with a stereo plug then to RCA on the transmitter. There should be an input and output on the transmitter. So the input would be from the computer and the output you can connect computer speakers to so you can hear when it is running.

Oh yea, if you are running it from an old laptop, make sure it has a RS232 serial port for the adapter to connect to CAT5 for your LOR universe. If not it can connect via USB with the USB adapter but serial is better if you can connect that way. I am sure your laptop has serial though. Good thing about you using your laptop is you could take it outside with you to program and tweak shows. You can also load S2 on your desktop since the new Lic have changed on LOR where you can use it on as many computers you own within your home. This was something I really lobbyed for last season and caught hell, but Dan agreed with me as well as others so they made the lic for any computer in your house instead of just 2.

One other thing I would look into getting and you really don't need it, but it will make things 200 times easier if you start sequencing your own shows, which really is cake once you see it and S2 has made it easier. Like playing with a Computerized Lite Bright. Is the Holiday Soft Light Designing. It is a computer animation of your house which is loaded from a picture you take or you can get it from Google, in 3D, really doesn't matter. But it lets you hang the lights and different elements so you can see it in real time, like Mega trees, arches, mini trees etc. The list goes on and on. It really is a HUGE help and it is cheap too, like $40 I think. LOR S2 has a animation screen built it but it is cheesy, it is just a back grid that you color in with the certain channel. Which really feels like a light bright....LoL. You can go download the software now and do everything you want but control the lights with it. So I would go download the software and start playing with it and getting familiar with it. You can even go to lorsequences.com and download some free ones to load in there.

Click on the Holidaysoft from the left side....

Once there just read and look at all the demos and features about it.

Light-O-Rama. Control lights, music, and special effects.

And here is what it looks like when used with LOR S2. You take a picture of your house, load it in and then you can add the lights and display elements from there and lets you see exactly what it will look like when set up so you can modify.

You have no idea, this program can do so much it is not even funny. More then what it shows.

You can enter in the prices of the lights you use and when you layout your design it will tell you how much it will cost you to buy the lights for this design, how much in electricity it will cost you on a per night basis depending on hours a night you run it and so on. AL doesn't have this, so it is only exclusive to LOR.

This program is just plan sick, in a good way. And used with S2 the stuff you can do is outrageous.
