Hi i I am new here and this is my first post. I have been doing hayrides for 3 years now and we get to create our own scenes.
We are extremely low budget and have made all of our props for under $100 dollars every year.
This year we have a scene that is very tough to work with. The way the tractor goes is in a figure 8 and around the first turn it comes up to a hill. The whole scene is like a 5 foot hill that then flattens on the top. There is very little flat space to put props close to the tractor. The only real place to put props is on top of the hill. The problem is that we cant get close enough to the tractor to have the element of surprise/shock.
I have 2 other people to work with and 2 weeks to make a scene with practically no money. We have 3 other scenes that we had to get things for.
on the other scenes we are re-creating the "SAW" bathroom, we are doing a "Hostile" scene and a crime scene. other scenes around the woods are Michael Myers, Pirates, Jail scene and many others. i just need one idea to bring this scene alive.

Sounds like a great time
Idea
1.) take 10 or 12 sections of PVC and to a "T" like a rib change and then you would have a tunnel to cover in black plastic or Webs, just allow space on the side so no one can get caught on the props.
2.) Make a 2 sided wall that pivots at one point at the cross point in the figure 8 and as the tractor reaches the top, someone can swing the wall (Gate like prop) back across the path to it looks different.
3.) Corn fields can be scary and have a lot of different places to hide (for you zombies) LOL

Put a well up on the hill and then have someone lay on the bottom hill costume blends into the hill so everyone will be fixed on the well and then boo!

Could you set a scene on the hill where someone gets beheaded and then the head rolls down the hill or maybe hung. How about a big blob comes sliding down the hill at the wagon.

you could just have something simple to distract people on the wagon while some one reached out of a hidden box in the hay and grabs some ones ankle
