Anyone have any advice on a brand/model of 2.0 speakers they've used with the picoBoo and gotten loud enough volume for a startle ? Went to set up a prop today and realized I could barely hear the audio on playback. I need LOUD.
I used computer speakers but haven't tried them yet. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the music IN the picaboo. Any help would be appreciated. Also, will it get deleted if unplugged?
This might help you, I noticed that I had to UNPLUG the speaker plug from the jack slightly to hear the audio from the controller. Try that and see if you can hear it then. I don't believe it deletes it when you unplug, but I haven't tried it since I pulled the inadequate speakers.
Sorry, I don't think I made myself clear enough. I'm trying to find something to plug into the picaboo so it will record the music. I don't know what to use. It has an input music port but, what do I use. I can't carry it up to my computer since it came attached to the setup base. I can't think of anything else to use. My ipod doesn't have an external port except for headphones. What are you using to put you music into the picaboo?
I've never used the picaboo, but it seems like a really cool device. I read the PDF file-manual and it looks like you can use your IPod's headphone jack. You just need a cable that converts from the headphone jack size to the (looks like) RCA jack on the Picaboo. You just start recording on the Picaboo and play the sounds from the IPod.
Now don't quote me, but I'm about 99.8% sure that flash memory is non-volatile, meaning it doesn't erase when you unplug it. It should be like a memory card in a camera or a thumbdrive.
Evil Inside, I had to upload my scare sounds from my PC to the Picaboo at about 40% volume on my pc's volume level and just plug it into where your speaker port on your computer and then plug into the in port on your picaboo. Also hook up your external speakers that you are going to use on the audio out so you can hear it while you are recording your sound. It will sound lower than what it actually will play back. Then unplug your audio in port from your pc and then listen to how it sounds on the speakers you have connected, better to use powered speakers like computer speakers. I did have to go back and forth a couple times due to the audio level that I had recorded to the pc. The only thing that I noticed was once I cranked up the volume on the piaboo it was a little distorted. The sound card in that guy is a older card and has it's limits also probably the speakers I am using to as well. They are just cheap $9.99 GE speakers from Target. Hope this may help.
Meyers, that's funny, those are the exact speakers I was using. Don't you find the volume lacking ? I picked up a $20 pair of Logitech that I'm going to try instead. If it's not to my liking, I'm going to gut the GE for the amp and use it as a preamp with the Logitech. I'll post my findings this weekend.
