Yes a spitter. I saw a device on fright props web site under the pneumatic spray system. It sprays or spits depending on pressure. I haven't seen any diy's on it. Thanks.

I am working on building a spitter right now for my spider. Getting it to "spray" is easy. I am having a hard time producing a misting effect. what I've got right now looks more like a super soaker and travels about 30 + feet. I live in PA and soaking people in Oct might not pan out so well if it is only 40 degrees that night...

The basics of getting it to spray is pretty easy. You need a sealed canister of some sort with 2 fittings entering the container. one of the fittings just needs to be a bukhead style fitting that basically gives you a sealed hole to connect your air supply to pressurize the canister. the second fitting needs to have a pipe or tube on the backside of it that protrudes down under the waterline. When you add air, the pressure will force the water up the pipe and out of the canister. You can also place your water fitting at a lower point of the canister and it will produce the same effect. The big thing is that the water fitting must be submerged at all times or you'll get nothing but air.

Thanks. That's what I thought. As for misting did you think of using the end of a chemical sprayer (the kind you pump pressure in the canister and spray for weeds or bugs) clip enough of the end off to pipe clamp in your spray tube. At least this sounds good in theory.

Yes, Actually I ran to Home Depot at lunch and I was looking at a kit they have there for repairing those pump up sprayers. For like $6 you get 4 or 5 different nozzles, a bunch of misc parts and even a handle piece with a flow control. they have one gallon economy sprayer units there for like $8.97. I think if you just installed a Bulkhead style fitting into the existing canister to provide pressure rather than pumping, you might be able to just use the whole thing.

I was kind of curious what kind of pressure those things build ? I have been experimenting with about 40 PSI .

the way the spitter is done is instead of pressuring the canister you take an air line and splice in a tube then the tube goes in a canister of water so when the air in the airline blows past the waterline splice it creates a vacuum and will suck up a small amount of water that combines with the air blowing out to create a spitting effect. the problem with pressurizing a canister of water is you won't get anything but water out of it unless you recombine it with another airline so that you get a mixture.

i will try and find a link to a how to for one, i know i saw one on hear somewhere. maybe on the monster list

Splicing an airline into the waterline. That is interesting. I would love to see a how to and see the difference it would make.
