Hi
As we are new here, I thought you might like to see some of our props.
Boris the Scarecrow, completely inspired by the SpookyBlue Bruno.
Our House Demon - Cyril (mostly coathangers)
The blue paint glows, especialy with the blacklight
Headstone and skulls
I think the shroud sets off the skulls quite well
Frank
I don't have the bars anymore. It was an old kids bed frame, and after we got them new beds I didn't have room to store them as props.
Also the kids don't have to give up their beds for a week, but then they are not kids anymore![]()

Very nice! I like the rock fencing around your yard, it adds to the feel of the decorations.

You might want to blow a balloon up inside it, to make it more rigid while your building the layers up.
Then I just used paper strips to build up a shell. I should have done a couple more layers, but I ran out of time.
You will need something to snip through some of the lampshade wires to make the eyes and mouth.
Then it's like the spookyblue Bruno, using twine, screwed up paper, paper mache, and chicken wire to build features and the stalk.
Latex, paint and then a lacquer coat to weather proof.
The body is PVC plumbing pipes, then the smock is weed suppressing sheet from a garden supply, hot glued together (I am no seamtress) twigs for hands, and natural raffia around the neck and waist.
He is mounted on a 4 inch fence post hammered a foot or so into the lawn and the PVC pipe fixed with U-Clamps screwed to the post, then a couple of long screws thru the PVC into the post to stop him behaving like a weathervane.
In darkness he had a string of AA power orange light to make him glow, but this year he will have a higher wattage AC powered flickering orange light.
I want to set that light up with a PIR to get triggered by the T&T'rs.
Remember darkness and ambience covers many things. I think that is what spurs me on, knowing you can get a great effect from a few screws, string, shadows and excitement
