i have been playing around with a role i have and decided to use it to close in my seance room, it is really cool looking when hanging, when light shines through it it looks like a tightly woven spiderweb, at night you cant really tell if there is a wall there or just nothingness. i tried lighting it on fire to see if it was flame retardant and it appears to be, it would catch on fire with an open flame but then it would just go right back out. i think i have found my new favorite fabric.

I used it last year to cover a white ceiling and it works wonders. It is definitely one of my favorite materials.

Yep, using it also to make walls in my garage. It is very lightweight and does a good job blocking out the light. It's called Weed Barrier Pro and I got it at my landscape store 6' by 300' for $180. I would bet that if your store doesn't carry it, they could order it for you. Here's a link to their website, scroll to the center:

Landscape Fabric including Pro-5 Weed Barrier, 20 Year Weed Barrier, 15 Year Weed Barrier, 12 Year Weed Barrier, 12 Year Weed Barrier Earthton, 6 Year Weed Barrier & Dewitt Weed Barrier Pro

Here's a video of the stuff I got so you can see how dense it is:

terra from the looks of it that is a tighter weave than the stuff i got, i will have to see if i can get a picture of it with the light coming through it has a really weird random weave to it and if i remember correctly it was pretty cheap. although i'm sure not the best for blocking weeds

Oh, yeah. I've seen that stuff. You are right, it would look cool for what you are using it for. That's what I'm finding terrific about the weed fabric. There are so many versions of it, you can get what you need to fit your design. I needed mine to be similar to fabric and this works for that. I noticed on their site that they also carry it in white. That could be good for a spider room or a snow scene or whatever.

All I can say is, I really dig the price (cheap!).

I like this better than plastic mostly because it doesn't shine at all. It gives the room or whereever a muted darkness. And yes, cheap.

FYI: Here's a picture of the landscape fabric made into walls in the garage. It's still being constructed in this shot:

I found a picture of the walls that shows a bit what Guitarist 155 was talking about (web-like look when lit from behind):

Also, you can see how my hubby came up with a way to rig it so I can easily put it up and take it down. He screwed in hooks into the studs in the ceiling. Then, I sewed a quick hem, inserted PVC pipe and hung it onto the hooks with zip ties. It's kind of like making quick curtains.

At the bottom I stapled a 2 X 2 and rolled the fabric up to make level with the floor. Since it could be windy because the garage will be open, we will add additional weight to the bottom using bricks.
