It still needs some final touches here and there but for the most part its done. They're a lil blurry, its hard to get black light shots.......oh and please ignore the dots on the floor, they will be painted over, this was last yr's dot room lol

    the flash kills the effect

    without the flash, HUGE difference!!

the strobe light made it even more blurry

This is an excellent example of how things can look so much different using lighting. With the camera flash, you can tell that the shelves and tanks are modern furniture that doesn't really fit well with the theme. BUT, when the lights go out and the black lights come on, everything works perfectly! Love it! This is why I try not to put too much detail into my props if they're going to sit in a dark area: it would all be lost in the darkness or under UV light.

What did you use to black out the walls?

And you call yourself a newbie... looks like you're gonna have to go pro here real soon. I really like the pictures without the flash. Nice job.

thanks for the kind words everyone

oh and Trader Sam I used felt paper to black out the walls. My husband owns a roofing company and that paper goes under shingles. Its nothing like felt at all, its more like a heavy duty construction paper. The best part, I can get rolls of it free LOL Since this is a house we bought that hubby is supossed to renovate I can staple the paper to the walls and not worry about any damage it causes.
