Last year I bought the lifesize gemmy witch with cauldron. The problem is I was going through my halloween stuff, plugged her in and she's not working right. She goes halfway through her motions than shuts off anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong with her.

I have this witch (although I have heavily modified her over the last couple years). As cool as she is, her electrical guts don't seem all that durable. When I got mine, I had to re-solder her internal speaker and have also had issues with the motors controlling her movements slowing down or stopping.
I will probably try to rebuild her from the inside out next year, as she is a really great prop when working correctly.

I had this prop two years ago. I got her, set her up early and she worked awesome! My favorite prop to that point. The night of my party about 30 mins before people started to arrive she started acting weird, swearing at me in gibberish... perhaps speaking in tongues. Then she stopped swaying her hips and she crapped out about 15 mins before people got there. I was ticked off! I returned her the next day, but I refuse to buy the ones in the stores this year because they're more expensive this year, and I don't want to take the chance with her tendency to break down. I've heard this story over and over again. A quick Google search will expose her for the number of defective ones that have been sold. I'd say, buy one at Lowes for $150 this year, pack up yours in the same box, and return it as defective. You got ripped off by Gemmy. You may as well stick it back to them as a defective unit this year.

I think I might be done with the animated stuff too. To much of a risk to spend all that money and not have it work. My sisters boyfriend is an electrician he said he would look at it. But if he cant get it to work I think I am going to pull the old switcharoo.

Joker, returning it to Lowe's does nothing to Gemmy. Doing something like that is not only dishonest and shows a total lack of integrity! If you want to get back at Gemmy, stop buying their merchandise.

+1.
There are so many threads about the problems with Gemmy products. They are cheaply built (the price reflects that) and most folks are lucky to get a season or two out of them. When they malfunction, you either can't pinpoint the problem or can't get parts to fix it so you're stuck with a $150.00 static prop. They'll continue to sell stuff at this price point and this "quality" as long as the market prevails.

I just got this witch Friday from the preorder on Amazon in March. Mine is defective--the hips don't move at all. I contacted Gemmy and sent them my receipt and they are refunding my full cost. They didn't mention anything about returning her though.

I emailed gemmy they basically said to bad the item was purchased last year. Their first solution was to make sure it was plugged in. Their second solution was to find an electric repairman. Oh well guess im not gonna buy anymore animated stuff.
