Last year, I built a Masoleum for my FCG and used pink insulation foam to give its look. It worked great but it is very windy where I live and it all blew off, I've tried glue, screws. So I'm done with that. I'm planning on using plywood. Does anyone have any tips on making the masoleum look good and realistic with the plywood? All suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I use skid resistant grey paint (it has sand in it). Gives the plywood a little texture.

Not necessarily specific, but just having the right paint job can make anything look great. Find a photo you like, mimic it. Pay attention to detail. I also agree that texture can be a big help.

thanks guys. any other ideas on ways to add texture to it. would plaster or anything like that work. i know a good paint job will extremely help, but i'm willing to go a little further.

You might trying glueing thinsheets of styrofoam to the plywood.
I don't mean to alarm you but your insides look very Halloweeny.

If you're going to try the plaster route, I recommend using a thinset mortar instead - it will stick to the plywood much better than plaster.
(keep in mind the weight that any kind of coating is going to add - make certain you have good support in that mausoleum)

I vote for Nervastar's idea, use 1/4 luan ply and 1/2 foam on top. the ply give it strength and the foam depth for carving and destressing , yet its still light enough to move and store easily. Use some blocks or large spikes to anchor it down.
