Just wanted to share my version of a possessed Ouija Board. I just finished it a couple of days ago. First of all I want to thank Buckaneerbabe for posting pics and video a while back of her awesome haunted Ouija board. I used a reindeer motor for the movement and luckily I still had my Parker Brothers Ouija Board set from when I was a teen, so I didn't have to paint one. I did make a new planchete (pointer) out of wood and plexiglass. I still have the original plastic one, but figured it might disappear on Halloween night. I'm going to let my daughter use it on her Fortune Teller table she sets up.

    Here's a pic:

    Heres a video:

Here's a video of the inside workings:

If anybody is wondering how I got the pointer to spin as it moves, all I can say is-I don't know--I'm just lucky I guess. When I was building it I was trying to come up with a way to make it do that and it ended up doing it on it's own. It must have something to do with the way I arranged the magnets.

It's really an easy prop to build for anyone that wants to try.

The way the reindeer motor is designed it will automatically reverse direction if it is stopped by something (I'm using a deck screw to stop it in each direction).
Sorry--here's a pic of the pointer I made:

The small round thing in the middle is two magnets stacked on top of each other with a small piece of felt glued to the bottom. The three white things are "magic sliders". I think the secret to getting the pointer to turn is to make sure the magnet stack is about 1/16th inch longer than the three "legs". The pointer kind of balances on the magnet (felt) and there is not much friction for movement.

Thanks for the compliments, Witch from Canada!!

Really nice work Dave! Great instructions too, by the way, do you have a source for the motors, or is it scavenged from an old decoration?

I know there are vendors that sell reindeer motors, but I don't know of one off hand.
I scavenged the motor from a Christmas reindeer. I replaced the original motor with a 30 RPM motor to make my Rockin' Reindeer:

    Thanks for the compliment!!
