Thread: Ghost in mirror?

I am trying to think of a way to create the ghost in mirror similar to Haunted Mansion in DisneyWorld. Remember when you look in the mirror you see a "holographic" image of a ghost sitting next to you. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I don't know the Haunted Mansion effect, but here are a couple ideas.

Two way mirror with the ghost and a light behind it?
You could probably scratch a ghost into the silvering of regular mirror as well and then light it from behind.

That's sorta like the mirror in the bathroom on that episode of Ghost Hunters. Boy were those guys pissed.

The Haunted Mansion mirror effect is a two-way mirror. The ghosts that ride with you in your Doom Buggy are on the other side of the plexiglass mirror and dimly lit. It's actually kind of a reverse pepper's ghost effect, only it's YOUR reflection that is the ghost.

I'm thinking of doing this next year, only the ghost will be a live actor. The ghost will interact with things in the room as if it was actually there, except you can't see it unless you view its "reflection" in the mirror.

I made one those about three years ago. It's really a simple prop to build, the toughest part for me was gettint the tint on the plexis glass.

I have some still pictures but I don't seem to have any video of the change, but I'll keep looking. Anyway here's a pic, it looks better in person be cause the flash of the camera is reflecting off the tint.
