This is really cool. I can see all the people rushing over to help the poor puppy... and BAMM!
Tell us about your relay board... how many relays... where did you get it?

The relay board is the Milford instruments board with 8 12VDC/240VAC relays and cost about £70 ($115) .. If you are only controlling 110VAC and have the space then using Dimmer packs is more economical, but the good thing about using the relay board is that I am controlling 4 12VDC solenoids and 1 240VAC fogger switch of of a single board, to do this with a dimmer pack you would need to add interface relays and when you scale up to 8 channels you lose the economics.
BTW The relay board is available in the US at a rather steep price of $190.... contact me early next year and I can do them for you guys for about $130 ea if you can club together and arrange to buy a minimum quantity of 10

The 'box' was actually made by Phoenix UK....one of my DMX mentors. I made the actual coffin at the beginning of this thread. Phoenix UK is way, way more knowledgeable about DMX than I am. I'm still pretty green about it. But, feel free to ask me questions, and Phoenix was always willing to help me. He's a project lifesaver!

Great coffin Terra, it's amazing very film like quality. I'm thinking of making one next year and have 4 cylinders on each corner going crazy with the same "fluff" as yours. I want to get into DMX but have no idea where to start. My guess would be that it would be cheaper then my route. Boobox 8 and the control slide panel...but we are talking $500 bucks here. Pretty rich. After you have the control slider then an 8 output prop would cost $300, $200 for a 4 output $130 for a 2. Decisions, decisions.

What Terra started with is actually a pretty good DMX kit, the great thing about DMX is expandability, in my haunt I have 6 props running off of a single PC using a single DMX network.
DMX is not the cheapest option, but its by far the most flexible, and its a system that will grow with you.
