i would not trust that site just from experience those look like cheap mic cables to me, and usually when they don't state a manufacture it's mic cable.
i make my own using cat5 and either acu-cable ends or neutrik ends
i use accu-cable for runs under 5 feet and adapters ( under 5 feet is about the same price as just the connectors )
you can also get 5 wire dmx cable from accu-cable and from gepco, gepco is imho the best dmx cable and is what the pros wire trussing with for portable light systems.
by next year I intend to rewire all my dmx jacks to 5 pin dmx as it annoys me that companies don't follow the dmx standard which clearly states 5 pin xlrs for dmx
that way if i ever get some 5 pin gear that uses the other 2 pins i won't have to mess with where i put them in the chain, and my cables can't be mistaken for mic cables

Well, I finally got all my stuff in Monday and played around with it a little bit last night. Terra, I wanted to ask where you got the sound file your using, or did you make it yourself?

Great! I was wondering how it was going.
I made the sound file myself using Audacity. It's a combination of spooky sound bites on the web and (you'd never guess this) elephant rumbles! The sound of elephant rumbles are deep and resonating. I could send you the file via email if you would like.

I'm also building one of these for this year, I now have most of the parts. I did send in my deposit to skulltronix for an exorcist and a BOC last week. I have not quite heard back yet. Does it still sound possible to have those in time to incorporate them into my setup before Halloween?
As for my progress. I've built a toe pincher and all of the DMX controllable parts are in. For the light, I got a Chauvet Colorsplash 196. I'm hoping that it's bright enough. When building the coffin, I intentionally left some gaps between some of the boards hoping that it would let some light and fog out during the routine.
I would like to put some chains on it, but I'm having trouble finding any good thick ones. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find some over sized chains?
I'm intending on finishing up the coffin this weekend. I'm not sure if I'll have a routine fully going but I may be able to post a preliminary video.
I would like to thank everyone on here for a lot of inspiration for this year. I'm really excited about incorporating computer controlled experiences to my home haunt. The goal is to have a much better display than the neighbors across the street and force them to up the ante a bit on the rivalry.
